Happy first week of the New Year! How is everyone feeling? I have to say I am feeling so so loved by all your positive comments on my first Thailand Vlog! It makes me smile so big knowing that you guys enjoy what I am creating and sharing with you. This community is everything to me, and I’m so excited to take each and every one of you along on this next years journey. As promised... I have put together episode 2 of my Thailand Vlog series. I am absolutely loving my time here and I am head over heels for this country. As I’m sure many of you know, I am such a foodie! I love to create new recipes and try new flavors. Cooking is one of my passions. I love the idea of cooking a big meal and bringing people together, young or old, from all walks of life, to be able to share a meal together. In my opinion that is one of the best things in the world, it is so satisfying. Which brings me to what I think is the best thing about traveling… the food! Food is a unique window into understanding and getting to know other cultures. Especially when we can’t always communicate so well with each other if we don’t speak the same language, I feel food is a special way to communicate without needing words. It’s also just so amazing to see how many different kinds of foods and flavors we have in this world! Is there any kind of particular food you love from your own home country? To be honest I’m not a big fan of traditional Dutch food, but I do love the Dutch Stroopwafels haha! :) Anyway, because we are in Thailand - the home of my favorite kind of cuisine - I wanted to learn all the tips and tricks about the amazing famous currys and noodles so that I could attempt to recreate them when I am home in New York. So Max and I decided to take a cooking class here! We had such a wonderful start at a local market to shop for fresh ingredients for the dishes. And in case you were wondering, I ate 4 whole mangoes while we shopped.. they’re so fresh and delicious I couldn’t resist! After a quick tour we went into the kitchen. Now… let me tell you cooking with Max is challenge…. No I'm joking haha we were a great team! We made amazing dishes and they tasted so good. I think I just might make a cooking video sharing with you guys what I learned. Would you guys like that?? Later on, Max and I went on a little motor bike adventure winding through the streets of Chiang Mai. Don’t worry, I wore a helmet and stayed safe!! Max drove, and I rode on the back because to be honest I was too scared to drive haha! But hey, 2019 is all about coming over your fears right? So maybe next time its my turn! Give me big thumbs up if you love Thai curry as much as I do and if you enjoyed this video! Xx Sanne PS. Unexpectedly I have to go back to Holland to see some family which means I will not have a transit in Philippines this year I hope to plan a trip back soon!
